Statement of Pricing Principles:  The Washington Island Literary Festival, dedicated to bringing the best literary voices and conversation to Washington Island at a reasonable cost, is a (virtually) all-volunteer organization.  Through our heart-felt efforts, and through generous support from Friends of the WILF, we seek to defray costs as much as possible for our attendees.

EVENT SCHEDULE

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 13: "Dear Water" Pre-Conference Creative Laboratory

11:00 AM:       BYO brown bag lunch, casual meet-and-greet, and discussion of readings circulated prior to the Festival
1:00 PM:         Lecture and Q & A with Lane Hall, Professor of Poetry at UW-Milwaukee
2:00 PM:        Optional, guided hike at the Jackson Harbor Ridges
3:00 PM:        "My Letter to Water” workshop (epistolary and poetic work)
6:00 PM:        Picnic dinner & sundown filming, with audio, of participants’ reading
9:00 PM:        Fireside chat & reflection on the day

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 14: "Dedicated to Craft for Readers and Writers" Workshops

10:00 AM to 5:00 PM:        Registration packets available at Fair Isle Books
12:30 PM to 5:00 PM:         Four 2-hour workshops, offered at appropriate and inspiring venues on the Island.

6:30 PM:        Dessert Reception with authors and attendees at the historic Farm Museum.  Meet and greet and formal remarks with Featured Authors,including Island Author Richard Purinton.
8:30 PM:         Optional open mic at Fiddlers Green

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 15:

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM:          Festival Presentations at the TPAC
6:30 PM. - 9:00 PM:          Dinner at the Historic Island Dairy

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 16: Brunch and Closing Remarks

9:30 AM:          Coffee and meet and greet on Hotel Washington porch
10:00 AM:        Brunch at Hotel Washington
11:00 AM:         Remarks: Suggestions from authors in attendance and from representatives of Washington Island's book clubs: "What We’ve Been Reading in the Past Year and What We Recommend for the Future”
12:00 PM:         Closing Notes
